About the Role

Join a specialized A&PS Build Team as an expert Deployment Consultant supporting hands-on infrastructure builds and secure platform deployments for classified data centers. You will be the technical lead on-site, standing up HPE platforms, deploying virtualization solutions, and ensuring compliance in high-security environments. This position offers a unique blend of travel, direct system work, and remote flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer locations across the U.S. to deliver and install HPE hardware systems

• Perform hardware connectivity, installation, and initial platform setup on-site

• Install, patch, and configure Linux and VMware ESXi/vSphere environments from the ground up

• Build, deploy, and manage virtual machines and private cloud infrastructure

• Oversee OS image lifecycle management, including golden image creation, updates, and system hardening

• Implement and remediate DISA STIGs to ensure secure environment compliance

• Support and troubleshoot Kubernetes/container platform deployments as part of modern infrastructure

• Resolve complex system issues during deployment and stand-up phases

• Collaborate with remote teams post-deployment for ongoing support

• Maintain strict adherence to classified environment protocols and travel requirements

• Required Skills and Experience

• Active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance (Top Secret preferred)

• Authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship

• 5+ years of expert, hands-on infrastructure experience—this is not a junior role

• Advanced Linux administration skills: installation, configuration, command-line, patching, and troubleshooting

• Deep expertise in VMware ESXi and vSphere, including VM deployment and management

• Proven track record of building greenfield data center or private cloud environments

• Strong knowledge of OS image management, golden images, agents, system updates, and hardening

• Familiarity with DISA STIG processes and secure, classified environment compliance

• Experience with Kubernetes or similar container platforms

• Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%, including 1–2 week site stays

• Preferred Skills

• Experience in classified, government, or DoD environments

• Extended travel in challenging or remote locations

• Advanced troubleshooting of hardware/software integration

• Exposure to HPE server platform deployments
