Sr Principal Systems Administrator – Aurora, CO (Onsite)
About the Role
Join a high-impact technical team as a Sr Principal Systems Administrator supporting mission-critical government programs in Aurora, Colorado. This onsite position offers the opportunity to work with advanced Linux, Windows, VMware, and NAS technologies while maintaining and enhancing secure multi-user computing environments. Responsibilities

Administer and maintain Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) and Windows systems in classified environments

Manage VMware technologies and Network Attached Storage devices (NetApp ONTAP preferred)
-
Ensure system performance, reliability, and compliance through proactive enhancements, patching, and configuration
-
Coordinate with engineering and technical teams to support multi-user system operations
-
Implement and monitor backup, recovery, file systems, disk space, and virus protection measures
-
Oversee user and computer accounts, permissions, and security access lists
-
Maintain audit logs and security documentation as directed by the ISSM
-
Support Cyber Security initiatives and assist with security vulnerability remediation
-
Report on project status and contribute to both recurring and ad-hoc system administration tasks

Required Skills and Experience
-
Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret (TS/SCI) clearance with Full Scope Polygraph
-
Expertise in Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) and Windows server administration
-
VMware administration experience
-
Proficiency with NAS storage device management (NetApp ONTAP preferred)
-
DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (e.g., Security+ CE) or eligible to obtain within 6 months
-
Familiarity with classified environment system administration

Preferred Skills
-
Advanced degree in a STEM field

5+ years Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration in SCI environments
-
Experience with NISPOM, DCID 6/3-ICD 503, RMF, STIG, JAFAN, or JSIG frameworks
-
Enterprise storage, RAID-levels, vulnerability management (Tenable/Nessus)
-
Identity management, Active Directory, Windows 10/Server, GPOs
-
VMware ESXi (6.x+), host-based firewall configuration, documentation (Wiki/SharePoint)
-
Current certifications: Security+ CE, CASP, CISSP, or similar
