Overview The Automation Test Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of software applications within our organization. Utilizing expertise in Java, Selenium, and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) with Cucumber, this position is responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts. The overall aim is to enhance the testing framework, reduce manual testing efforts, and facilitate continuous improvement by delivering high-quality software products. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between development and testing teams, promoting collaboration, and encouraging a culture of quality assurance within the software development lifecycle. The Automation Test Engineer will also focus on integration and performance testing, proactively identifying test cases to automate and refining existing processes to optimize efficiency. As a key player in the software development team, the engineer’s work will directly impact product delivery timelines and customer satisfaction, making this position essential for the success of our projects. Key Responsibilities Design and implement automated test scripts using Java and Selenium. Develop automated test scenarios based on user stories in BDD using Cucumber. Collaborate with developers and product owners to understand requirements and acceptance criteria. Execute automated tests and analyze results to ensure high quality delivery. Maintain and enhance the current automated testing framework. Perform regression testing and ensure it aligns with the latest changes. Identify, record, and track bugs using appropriate tools. Conduct code reviews and contribute to best practices in testing. Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline for continuous testing. Provide regular status reports on testing progress and quality metrics. Participate in agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning and retrospectives. Mentor junior team members on automation best practices. Research and incorporate new testing tools and methodologies. Support manual testing efforts as needed during critical phases. Collaborate with the QA team to ensure comprehensive test coverage across the application. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 2+ years of experience in software testing, with a focus on automation. Proficiency in Java programming and object-oriented design concepts. Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver for web application testing. Familiarity with BDD concepts and Cucumber framework. Experience with API testing tools and methodologies. Strong understanding of Agile software development methodologies. Knowledge of version control systems, such as Git. Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills. Experience with continuous integration tools like Jenkins or Travis CI. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Detail-oriented with a focus on quality assurance. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Certifications in software testing or automation (e.g., ISTQB) are a plus.
